We at PlayKentucky think Bet365 Sportsbook is a prime candidate to be a market disruptor in the Kentucky sports betting industry. And one of the leading gambling research firms recently released a report that further bolsters that belief.

Bet365 is the fourth-best sports betting app available in the US, according to Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, an independent gambling research and consulting firm.

Why Bet365 is the 4th-best app in the US

FanDuel came in at No. 1 in EKG’s 1H23 US Sports Betting Apps Rankings Report last week. It’s been at the top for three consecutive reports. DraftKings came in at No. 2, PointsBet — which recently sold its US assets to Fanatics Sportsbook — was No. 3. Then came Bet365, which has held onto that No. 4 spot for two straight reports, which are based on nationwide testing.

“Bet365 remained in the fourth spot, though it improved its grade in every one of our five testing categories (UX, betting interface, features, core, aesthetics),” EKG wrote in its weekly newsletter. “Testers particularly liked the bet365 SGP engine and its transparent pricing.”

Eilers & Krejcik Gaming conducted testing for this report in its 12 core markets, including Michigan, Ohio and New Jersey.

Bet365 poised to disrupt Kentucky market

Last week, PlayKentucky wrote about why Bet365 feels like a perfect fit for Kentucky. To be frank, it’s in a better position right now to be a market disruptor than Fanatics Sportsbook. We’ll see if that changes over time, as Fanatics tries to convert its merchandise customers into sports betting customers.

Let’s look at Ohio for a sense of how Bet365 is performing in a major US market.

In April, Bet365 had a 7.3% market share in terms of handle. That was fourth-most among 18 sportsbook apps, behind FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook and BetMGM, but ahead of fifth-place Caesars Sportsbook and sixth-place Barstool Sportsbook. Also: Bet365 was just north of $1 million behind BetMGM Sportsbook to crack the top three.

Ohio performance likely isn’t an anomaly

Translation: Bet365, which has owned the United Kingdom sports betting scene for two decades, has the chops to make a dent in the US. Owning nearly a top-three market share in Ohio is no joke. It’s reasonable to think Bet365 Kentucky could do the same.

And its high-quality app, which Eilers & Krejcik Gaming deems the fourth-best in the US, would no doubt help.
